Great podcast app - I like it
Researched and checked out several freebie versions of some of the more highly regarded podcast apps. For me, this RSSRadio is the clear cut winner. One big reason is that I like listening to old radio shows that often have poor recording quality, and one thing about this app that stands out is the DSP and equalizer presets that give a bit of control over the tone. This makes listening to some poorly recorded shows quite a bit more tolerable. I have though noticed that the EQ doesnt change preset effects until toggling the "compressor" switch, but not a big deal. This app gives you the settings to take as much or as little control over your podcast listening experience as you wish. There are tons of features and settings, and it is well worth taking the time to play around with for a while and get it all figured out to get the most out of it. This is a very sophisticated app that is clearly well thought out, and from my understanding, the developer is also receptive to input from the users. It does pretty much everything that I could want for it to, but if I could make just one change, it would be to give it an actual manually controlled equalizer rather than the EQ presets, since only a few of them have as pronounced an effect as I would like. They are still there though which is much better than the rest of the apps Ive tried, so definitely cant complain. This is without question the best podcast app IMO, and WELL worth the price to remove the ads. Currently I have RSSRadio installed on a 5th gen iPod touch with the latest IOS(9.3+), it works great, and has quickly joined only a handful of apps that I consider "must-have" essentials for getting the most out of the iPod. It receives nothing less than my full recommendation: 5 stars. Great job by the author/developer!
